Maximum care at every stage, no matter how small, is the key to the production of our shoes. For this reason we manufacture our
FOOTPRINTS Originals today according to old shoemaker tradition using intricate hand-sewing.
Upper and sole are sewn several times by hand using a tear-resistant nylon thread. This is a physically demanding job,
which requires both particular dexterity and above all a trained eye. It is this workmanship that ensures a perfect fit and
optimum comfort.
Quality is the best reason to buy. It may sound rather old-fashioned these days but, for us, shoes are not disposable items.
FOOTPRINTS are designed to provide you with pleasure over many years and only by using the best materials can we do
justice to this claim.
Selected upper leathers determine the character of our shoes, which are tanned gently without any use of plastic covering
colours. Our anatomically shaped FOOTPRINTS footbed consists only of organic materials like the fi nest jute, natural latex, the
purest Portuguese cork and a fine leather cover. You will appreciate the FOOTPRINTS quality with every step.
All our FOOTPRINTS footbeds are and always have been manufactured exclusively in Germany. Our shoe
models are manufactured by experienced partners according to the strictest quality specifi cations. Two
of these companies are located in Germany (in Thuringia and Hesse), with further partners in Portugal
(Caldas de Vizela). Our relationship is characterised by many years of cooperation based on respect and trust.
Many of the production staff can look back on more than 40 years of professional experience. It is our aim to preserve this artisan
know-how for the future.
Far from being a contradiction, for FOOTPRINTS, innovation and tradition are a concept. For this reason,
we conserve and nurture our know-how and experience of the traditional shoemaker’s trade.
